NORTHBOROUGH, Mass., Nov. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The accidental sleuth in Susan LaDue's Kristen Maroney Mystery Series, stands out because she shouldn't stand out at all. She's an ordinary sort of person who owns a small resort wear business in the Caribbean town of Placencia. On an average day you would browse the shops along Magnolia Way, Placencia's main street, and if you noticed Kristen at all it would likely be as one shop owner among many.
And yet, Kristen cannot stay out of the limelight. She's a born nosy parker whose friends can't seem to stay out of trouble. That would be bad enough, but Kristen's also the kind of person who has to get to the bottom of things. She's a fixer.
Tropical Greed, the second in the Kristen Maroney series, finds a tired Kristen who is longing for the end of the busy tourist season when her friend Clare entices her into a campaign to save the sea turtles that nest on Placencia's beaches. After Clare takes her on a scuba diving tour of the reef where sea turtles hang out, Kristen cannot resist embarking on a fact finding mission that lands her and her boyfriend Conrad squarely in the bad guys' cross hairs, and it's unlikely that anyone can escape unharmed.
