Despite the head start of Real, Windows Media and Quicktime formats, Flash appears to be catching up fast

The guys here at www.FlashFocus.nl have been hard at work to test each and every new feature in Flash 8 and Flash Player 8. They describe what they have uncovered in a series of articles. A great read for all Dutch Flashers.

Scott Barnes is saying over at www.mossyblog.com that flash 8 IDE is all well and good, but where are the components?

Indeed it does. In the exclusive Q&A session MXDJ conducted with 4 key Macromedia execs in conjunction with the launch of Studio 8, Jim Guerard - Vice President of Product Management and Product Marketing at Macromedia - was completely open when asked about that. Guerard says, in the Special Issue: "FreeHand was replaced by the addition of Contribute and FlashPaper to better fulfill the typical design-develop-maintain workflow needs of our customers. FreeHand is both an important and successful product, and will continue on as part of the Macromedia family of products."

Hope that helps.
